After teasing details about the phone for the past month, OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 15 in China. Although the global release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, OnePlus is already advertising the OnePlus 15 on some of its international storefronts, noting that it’s “coming soon.”
Back in September, OnePlus unveiled the design of the OnePlus 15, featuring flat edges, curved corners, and a redesigned square camera bump. It also confirmed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and will have a 165Hz display.
For its launch, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch 165Hz OLED panel with 1.5K resolution. This marks a slight downgrade in resolution from the OnePlus 13, which has a QHD+ display. However, OnePlus defends the decision as a technical choice, citing industry limitations that prevent the production of a QHD+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
One area where the OnePlus 15 clearly sees an upgrade is battery life, as it includes a 7,300mAh battery, a notable increase from the OnePlus 13’s 6,000mAh battery. The OnePlus 15 will be available in three colors in China: sand dune, misty purple, and absolute black, starting at ¥3,999 (approximately $560) for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The OnePlus has launched in China, with a global launch soon to follow.
The worldwide launch of the OnePlus 15 could happen very soon
One of the OnePlus 15’s biggest changes is the camera
With the OnePlus 15 now launched in China, the main question is when the global release will happen. As I mentioned earlier, OnePlus is already promoting the OnePlus 15 as “coming soon” on some of its global sites, like in the UK and India, so it appears it will be sooner rather than later. The heavily rumored date for the global launch is November 13, which, if true, means it’s just two and a half weeks away. It’s worth nothing there is no mention of the OnePlus 15 on its US site yet.
Regarding what else you can expect from the OnePlus 15, the phone features a new camera system that is quite different from the OnePlus 13, due to the end of the OnePlus and Hasselblad partnership. The circular camera island is gone, replaced by a square camera bump resembling the iPhone. The hardware in this new square bump includes a 50-megapixel main lens, a 50-megapixel 3.5x periscope camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
A few other notable features of the OnePlus 15 include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, an IP69K water and dust resistantance rating (slightly tougher than IP69), an IR blaster, and ColorOS 16 (internationally known as OxygenOS 16).
Alongside the launch of the OnePlus 15, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Ace 6, a more affordable mid-range option. It features two rear cameras instead of three and a larger 7,800mAh battery. The OnePlus Ace 6 is rumored to be released globally as the OnePlus 15R.
